I am sure you have read a lot about the Apple Watch. I am waiting for it, in a way. I have been an Apple early adopter for years: the first Macintosh, the first iPod, and then the iPhone and the iPad. I still have a MacBook Air, an iPhone (quite old but still working), a mini iPad. I still possess and iPod even if I don’t use it very much. And I am so satisfied about the Apple products, after all these years! I am a really loyal customer.
Does it sound like I have been payed by Apple?
Well, unfortunately not!
So it’s time to tell you the story of the watch I have, instead of blatering around the one I dream of…
The little Mondaine watch with the red strap appeared in my life a summer day a couple of years ago. I was visiting my friend Patrizia who lives in Livorno. She said “I have a present for you” and she showed me the watch. “I found it at the base of the stairs in the building where I work” she continued. “I almost crushed it! I realized it has some value, the strap is patent leather, so I asked the concierge if anybody had been looking for it. But nobody was. I asked also all the people I thought could have dropped it, but nobody seems to be the owner. An entire month is passed, and I feel the right to keep it. It doesn’t fit me, but it is perfect for you!”
And it is still perfect for me. Funnily enough, I already had a watch by the same brand, the big one which really looks like the Swiss Railway watch. But the little one is much more apt to my wrist. And I really like the fact that there is a story behind it!
