Back to selfie in the kitchen! But I think you can spot from my expression that the heat is really trying me out… You know, my flat is lovely to look at, but it is probably the worst I have ever had in terms of insulation: it’s horribly hot in the summer and horribly cold in the winter! And it’s strange because it is an old building, with thick walls and high ceilings…
So this morning when I woke up and I was tired and the air was still and I felt discouraged not to have at least a bit of a break in the early morning, I had a light breakfast and stand in front of the wardrobe to decide what to wear. I tried a dress, very pretty but made of a mix of fabrics, with some synthetic among them, and I felt an immediate discomfort. Than I tried a silk dress, and that was even worse: I remembered my mother telling me that silk is warm, despite its appearence… Finally I decided for this dress, that you have seen before (and please note the difference in the picture and in the hairstyle) and I said looked like a meadow in blossom, and which is pure cotton, and makes me understand why the ancient Egyptians used cotton for their summer clothes…
I am sure the heeled espadrilles would have looked good, but I really felt the need to be as comfortable as I could.
And thank God it’s Friday!
Have a nice day!
