Here we are: selfie in the living room! Have you noticed the nice old armchair? It was my grandmother’s and I had it upholstered in a nice fabric… cost me quite a lot of money at the time, but absolutely worth!

And what about the oufit? Very very simple: a little black dress (light cotton, a bit large, very comfy), a pair of espadrillas and you are ready to go!

Now, to be honest with you (and you have learned to trust me, haven’t you?) I totally agree with the say that black makes you seem older. My mother used to say that, and she was right. You can compare my two last pictures, the one of yesterday with the white shirt and the one of today with the black dress. I mean, this black dress is lovely and fit perfectly. Nonetheless, I looked better yestarday… don’t you agree?

Anyway, I got this dress at a swap party I went a few months ago. I quite like the swap party formula, the atmosphere, the fun of trying on clothes and showing them to friends, not to mention to observe what people buy and wear and get rid of… very useful for my blog and for the Giorni Moderni blog (a sort of Italian version of Chic After Fifty). If you haven’t checked that out, do it. Here’s the link: http://giornimoderni.donnamoderna.com/donne/esercizi-di-stile-per-cinquantenni-e-oltre

Have a nice day!

lovely dress! I’ll check about this thing of black making you looking older… what if it is psychosomatic? You associate black with what your mother said and you behave like you were older? Maybe it’s kind of a “Florida effect”! 🙂 however… i love that dress! HiddenHipster
