Chic After Fifty

How? Showing you how to be chic even when you are at home with yourself. Even when it’s so hot you wish to take your skin off.

First thing: either have some air conditioning system installed in your flat, or buy an excellent fan. I have bought this Dyson which is effective and efficient and also beautiful to look at.

Second thing: wear something large, something that stays away from your skin. I have this dress that I like a lot but it’s too short to be worn at work. I bought it in Pola when I was vacationing there a couple of years ago. Resist the temptation to put on the least clothes you can. You will end up touching every surface with your skin, and this is neither pleasant nor healthy. Especially if you go out, travel on a bus or subway, sit down in public spaces.

I also think that in the very hot countries like the Middle East ones, or India, people cover themselves in the heat. For protection. It makes sense.

Then of course I have my beloved Birkenstock!
