Sometimes it’s easier to start the day with a smile than to keep that smile all day long…

I started with a healthy and tasty breakfast, orange juice, yogurt with cereals, a good cup of coffee. Plenty of time to dress and organize myself. The weather is still strange and unpredictable, and the temperature is lower inside my flat than outside, so I tend to be overdressed.

I am wearing blue trousers by Siste’s, a flower T-shirt by Woolrich, a little blue cardigan by Pennyblack and my jacket by Manila Grace. Instead of the Barrito shoes, I have the Merrell‘s. So nothing that you haven’t seen before, but in a slightly different combination. That’s what we do every morning, isn’t it? And that’s also what creative people do, take the usual things and combine them in a new way…

And the smile? Well, the smile is so important I always start the day with a smile. A smile to myself, mostly. Sometimes it’s particularly difficult to keep it through the day. Sometimes you find rude people just out of the door of your flat. Well, breath deeply. Say to yourself what you feel, don’t deny or minimize it. But then look at yourself. Don’t you deserve to be treated kindly, at least by yourself? Don’t you deserve that same kindness you reserve to friends and family? Yes you do. So smile to yourself.

And have a nice day!

[…] Smiling. Being resilient means you know it’s hot, you don’t like it, you feel tired, you are not doing things you should be doing (sew the cotton sweater you have knitted for your sister, you have 8 days left; iron a few white shirts you can’t otherwise wear), but you live. Quite well. Knowing that in a while all this heat will be forgotten, as so many other things… […]
