I do love this straw hat! I have already told you the story of it, so what am I going to write in this post?
Well, you have already seen everything I am wearing… the denim skirt, by Banana Republic, that I wear in summer or winter indifferently; the stripy T-shirt, by H&M, one of the many; the gray jacket by Antonio Fusco; the shoes by Marco. You’ve seen the smile too…
So I’ll tell you about a book I just finished reading yesterday night: The lost solos by Eshkol Nevo. I picked it up on the desk of my friend Isabella Fava: she is a journalist for Donna Moderna (yes, the same women’s magazine I am a contributor for the blog, Giorni Moderni) and she receives many many books. Why did I chose that book it’s a mistery to me, but it was certainly a great choice. The book is wonderful: warm and compassionate, compelling and written in an essential and pure language I find marvellous.
I have read the book in Italian. And there is always a “lost in translation” problem. The Italian title is “Soli e perduti”: quite an evocative title, but considering that lost solos are birds that are occasionaly found out of their usual habit, the Italian title doesn’t convey this double meaning at all. With the English title you get a deeper meaning of the book, and you also understand the real lost solos that you find in the book…
Anyway, go and buy the book!
And in the mean time, have a nice day!
