Resilience is a very interesting concept, that is becoming more and more widely used.
I have done a little reaserch on the Internet and found the Torrens Resilience Institute (based in Australia) which give this definition: the term resilience was introduced into the English language in the early 17th Century from the Latin verb resilire, meaning to rebound or recoil.
I have seen the term recently used referring to the heat we are experiencing in this last month. It was an ironic piece on La Repubblica, where the journalist was inviting people to show resilience toward the heat: it is true is exceptional, it is true it is testing us, but there is no use in complaining all the time. It’s hot. Let’s go on with our lives!
And let’s get dressed in the morning, and take the usual #selfieinthekitchen! I am wearing a skirt you have already seen, a lucky purchase in H&M, solid cotton and nice design; a T-shirt from Pennyblack, cotton and silk, very light and soft; and my sandals by Marco. Exactly the sandals I bought thinking to reserve them for evenings out… life is always unpredictable!
Have a nice day!
