No #selfieinthekitchen?

No. Not today.

I know you can’t live without it, but you will make do. And instead I am offering you five precious (even though they would sometimes seem obvious) suggestions, that I have learned in this unusually hot summer in Milano.

#number1 Dress. Don’t think that because it’s hot you would feel better without clothes. As they protect you from the cold, clothes can protect you from the heat. And they protect you from the contact with surfaces, objects and things that could be potentially contaminating. We want to live healthy, don’t we?

#number2 Choose natural fabrics. Cotton, linen, rayon are a woman’s best friends in summer. There are some synthetic materials that are pleasant to wear, like microfiber, but in general the synthetic fabrics don’t let your skin breathe and make you feel even hotter!

#number3 Wear loose clothes. I don’t think tight clothes are ever flattering. I often buy things a size more. I like to be comfortable. And most of the time I wear my clothes from the early morning till the late evening… how could I bear to be uncomfortable for so long? Well, during the summer loose clothes are a must!

#number4 Leave your jewels at home. I am not the one for a lot of jewels, generally speaking. But when it’s very hot even a ring can become unbearable… not to speak about watches or bracelets! Earrings are the best, in the heat. I would select the lightest and the smallest of course!

#number4 Get a straw or cotton bag. I am a great fan of leather bags, they are elegant and can transform the simplest of outfits. But a leather bag in the summer… no, no, thank you. It makes me feel hot just thinking about it! Plus, there are beautiful straw and cotton bags to chose from!

And then surprise surprise! #selfieinthekitchen! Wearing a T-shirt by Stefanel, skirt by Marella and ballerinas.

Have a nice day!
